If You Remain In Me

If you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father. (John 15:7, NLT)

We tend to think that relationship with the Lord is the same as other relationship experiences; we filter everything, including the Lord and His working in our lives, through the whole of life’s experience.

Human relationships, for example, make us confident and provide emotional support for us; but when outcomes disappoint, and those disappointments are experienced again and again, the resulting negative pattern creates a new hurdle.

In comparison, beyond human experiences or any such limitation, our trust in God is rewarded; He is, again and again a consistent, loving, forgiving provider. His grace flows into our lives making genuine fellowship with Him possible. He sends His Word to confirm unconditionally appeals by His Spirit that quicken and make real every promise of His.

Remain in His Word. Meditate there. One minute, or two, or more—the key is there in His Word. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God. God and His Word are one. Access to Him is through His Word. His Word answers. Daily. Go there!

And yes, you do have time.

Amen.
